Day 1 – Selfoss ? Jökulheimar
Ride from Selfoss to the highlands. Visit MT. Hekla, Hjálparfoss and Háifoss waterfalls, Þórisvatn lake, and end at Jökulheimar Mountain Hut for a fresh fish or steak dinner.
Day 2 – Jökulheimar ? Rjúpnavellir
Cross the Veiðivatnahraun lava field, ride past Veiðivötn lakes, admire MT. Hekla, Eldgjá volcanic fissure, and the black desert before reaching Rjúpnavellir hut.
Day 3 – Rjúpnavellir ? Álftavötn
Ride through Fjallabak’s rugged terrain. Soak in the hot pools at Landmannalaugar, pass Tungnaá River, Langisjór Lake, Eldgjá, and Vatnajökull glacier. Overnight at Álftavötn hut.
Day 4 – Álftavötn ? Selfoss
Final day: Öldufellsleið mountain road, black desert, Mýrdalsjökull and Eyjafjallajökull glaciers, Mælifell volcano, Markarfljótsgljúfur canyon, and Emstrur desolate area. Return to Selfoss.
