6-Day Motorcycle Tour | Indonesia - Bali to Bromo - Volcanic Trails & Jungle Rides

Overview

This 6-day ride takes you from the mystical black sands of Mount Batur in Bali all the way to the surreal caldera of Mount Bromo, one of Indonesia’s most iconic volcanoes. From dense jungle trails to active volcanic ridges, coastlines to sulfur mines—this ride is packed with challenge, culture, and raw natural beauty. You'll traverse two islands, cross rivers, ride through plantations, and explore ancient Hindu temples as you make your way deep into the heart of East Java.

This is true adventure motorcycling: ferry crossings, crater trails, volcanic sand dunes, and some of the best off-road riding Southeast Asia has to offer. End each day with fresh local meals, stunning views, and comfortable local stays. No day is the same on this ride—and that’s exactly the point.

Day 1 – Ubud to Tulamben (North Bali)

You’ll be picked up and transferred to Ubud. We do gear fitting, and a full pre-ride safety briefing from the team.

Your adventure kicks off with a morning ride through the lush heart of Bali. Ride past terraced rice fields, remote temples, and jungle trails heading north toward Mount Batur. Traverse the black lava fields around the volcano before descending to the coast. Overnight stay in Tulamben, a scenic dive town on the Bali Sea.

Approx. Distance: 130–160 km | Terrain: Asphalt, rocky tracks, volcanic lava trails

Day 2 – Bali to East Java (via ferry)

Start with a coastal ride across northern Bali, passing clifftop roads and fishing villages. Reach Gilimanuk Harbor by afternoon and take a short ferry ride across to Java. Once ashore in Banyuwangi, settle into a cozy lodge for dinner and rest.

Approx. Distance: 160 km | Terrain: Jungle trails, beach sand, coastal roads

Day 3 – Banyuwangi to Ijen Plateau

This is one of the toughest and most beautiful days. Navigate narrow jungle tracks, cross rivers, and climb towards the volcanic highlands of Ijen. Stop at local warungs and ride past massive coffee plantations. The day ends in the Ijen plateau where you’ll stay in a mountain eco-lodge.

Approx. Distance: 130–150 km | Terrain: Dense jungle, plantation roads, hill climbs

Day 4 – Ijen Plateau to Jember

After a peaceful night at altitude, ride along crater ridges and descend into Java’s eastern farmlands. The terrain opens up into a mix of sugarcane fields, dusty trails, and gravel roads. Enjoy long sweeping bends before arriving in the city of Jember for a proper hotel stay and a rooftop dinner.

Approx. Distance: 180–200 km | Terrain: Volcanic soil, forest trails, paved rural roads

Day 5 – Jember to Mount Bromo

Today is a true highlight. Tackle riverbeds, forest tracks, and hill climbs before reaching the Tengger Highlands. Enter the surreal landscape of the Bromo caldera via an off-road route that most tourists never see. Ride across the Sea of Sand and park up near the base of the crater. Overnight stay at a lodge with a view over the volcano.

Approx. Distance: 180 km | Terrain: River crossings, highland trails, volcanic sand

Day 6 – Mount Bromo Sunrise Ride + Transfer

Pre-dawn ride to the famous Penanjakan Viewpoint to witness sunrise over Mount Bromo and Semeru. After breakfast, ride across the caldera one last time before transferring back. Depending on your next destination, riders will either be driven to Malang or Surabaya Airport.

Approx. Distance: 50–80 km | Terrain: Caldera sand, forest tracks, scenic roads
