Day 1: Cusco – Sacred Valley – Ollantaytambo – Aguas Calientes (160 km, 45% dirt)


Start your motorcycle journey heading northeast from Cusco into the Sacred Valley. Ride scenic dirt tracks past two tranquil lagoons and sweeping Andean mountain views. Visit the circular Inca terraces of Moray and the salt pans of Maras before descending into the Urubamba Valley. Explore the charming Inca town of Ollantaytambo, then board the train to Aguas Calientes for your overnight stay near Machu Picchu.


Day 2: Machu Picchu – Ollantaytambo


Rise early to catch the bus up to Machu Picchu. If the weather is kind, you’ll witness sunrise over the ancient Inca citadel. Enjoy a 2-hour guided tour followed by free time to explore this World Wonder on your own. In the afternoon, return by train and bus to Ollantaytambo for a restful night.


Day 3: Ollantaytambo – Patacancha – Lares (245 km, 40% dirt)


Ride high into the Andes, crossing a 4,300-meter mountain pass with commanding views of the Sacred Valley. After lunch, descend into the cloud forests and high jungle, traversing from 1,000 to 3,300 meters. Finish the day in Lares with a soak in the village’s natural hot springs.


Day 4: Lares – Calca – Pisac (210 km, 30% dirt)


Begin the day with a winding ascent to a lofty 4,500-meter mountain pass with panoramic views of the Andes. Continue the descent to the valley below for lunch. In the afternoon, follow a gravel trail to a secluded mountain-top lake before continuing to the town of Pisac for the evening.


Day 5: Pisac – Urcos – Pitumarca (190 km, 30% dirt)


Venture off the beaten track towards Rainbow Mountain. Instead of the tourist highway, you’ll wind through dirt tracks and remote Andean farming villages. Expect to see potato fields, local farmers, and authentic mountain life. After lunch, cruise paved roads into Pitumarca for the night.


Day 6: Rainbow Mountain – Espinar (185 km, 30% dirt)


Start the day with a hike or optional horseback ride to Vinicunca (Rainbow Mountain). Capture the iconic rainbow-colored ridges before returning to town. Then ride towards Espinar, stopping at the archaeological site of Wiracocha Temple, a large and sacred Inca construction. Overnight in Espinar.


Day 7: Espinar – Chivay (200 km, 50% dirt)


Ride into the Andes through wild terrain to the epic viewpoint of Suykutambo, where three rivers merge dramatically. Then continue to Chivay, a small highland town with access to the Colca Canyon. Soak in natural thermal hot springs to end the day.


Day 8: Colca Canyon Exploration (100 km, 30% dirt)


Climb through the canyon walls to Cruz del Condor, where you can watch massive Andean condors gliding over the canyon cliffs. Ride deeper into Colca Canyon, passing through traditional villages, ancient agricultural terraces, and dramatic landscapes. Return to Chivay by evening.


Day 9: Chivay – Arequipa (160 km, 20% dirt)


Embark on a scenic ride through Salinas and Aguada Blanca National Reserve, home to wild vicuñas, llamas, and alpacas. Stop at Patapampa Pass for sweeping views of snow-capped volcanoes, including Misti, Chachani, and Ampato. Arrive in Arequipa and enjoy a countryside excursion or local food tasting.
