Day 1 – Anuradhapura

Anuradhapura, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is one of Sri Lanka’s most sacred ancient cities, renowned for its well-preserved ruins and grand stupas. Visit the Sacred Bodhi Tree (Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi), grown from a cutting of the original tree under which Buddha attained enlightenment. Explore the colossal Ruwanwelisaya Stupa and the towering Jetavanaramaya.

Discover the Abhayagiri Monastery complex, the Isurumuniya Rock Temple with its stone carvings, and the Kuttam Pokuna twin ponds. Just outside the city lies Mihintale, where Buddhism was first introduced to Sri Lanka.

Day 2 – Trincomalee

Ride to Trincomalee, a coastal gem on Sri Lanka’s northeast.

Visit Nilaveli Beach and Pigeon Island National Park, known for coral reefs and snorkeling. Explore the sacred Koneswaram Temple on Swami Rock and the colonial Fort Frederick. Relax at Marble Beach and visit the Kanniya Hot Springs.

Whale watching (April–October) offers sightings of blue whales and dolphins.

Day 3 – Sigiriya

Ride inland to Sigiriya Rock Fortress, a UNESCO-listed 5th-century citadel built by King Kasyapa.

Day 5 – Ella (First Night)

Ride into Sri Lanka’s hill country to Ella.

Visit the iconic Nine Arch Bridge, surrounded by tea plantations. Hike Little Adam’s Peak for panoramic views or tackle the more challenging Ella Rock trek. Stop at Ravana Falls and tour a local tea factory to learn about Ceylon tea production.

Day 6 – Ella (Second Night)

Day 7 – Yala National Park

Ride toward Yala National Park.

Yala is renowned for its leopard sightings and diverse ecosystems including jungles, plains, lagoons, and coastal stretches. Wildlife includes elephants, sloth bears, crocodiles, and over 200 bird species.

Historical sites include Situlpawwa Rock Temple and Magul Maha Vihara.

Day 8 – Mirissa

Ride along the southern coast to Mirissa.

Highlights include whale watching (November–April), Parrot Rock, Coconut Tree Hill, and Secret Beach. Surfing and snorkeling are popular at Mirissa Beach. Nearby Weligama offers views of traditional stilt fishermen.

Day 9 – Kuruwita

Ride inland to Kuruwita in Sabaragamuwa Province.
