Day 1: Hanoi to Mai Chau (160 km)

Depart from bustling Hanoi and head west on Highway 6. Ride through rice paddies, limestone karsts, and lush countryside. Cross Thung Khe Pass and descend into the Mai Chau valley. End the day with a traditional Thai Xoe dance performance and local rice wine.


Day 2: Mai Chau to Phu Yen (140 km)

Begin the ride toward Phu Yen via Road 43. Cross the Da River using the Van Yen ferry and ride scenic winding roads through tea plantations and dairy regions around Moc Chau. Overnight in a simple motel.


Day 3: Phu Yen to Son La (160 km)

Continue along quiet Road 37 through Thai villages and rolling farmland. Reach the cooler Son La plateau and visit the infamous Son La Prison & Museum, witnessing Vietnam’s colonial history. Overnight in Son La city.


Day 4: Son La to Than Uyen (180 km)

Ride through remote mountain villages and over the iconic Pha Din Pass. Enjoy views of stilt houses, rice terraces, and winding passes. Lunch in Tuan Giao before continuing to Than Uyen for the night.


Day 5: Than Uyen to Sapa (110 km)

Head toward the tourist hub of Sapa via the Tram Ton – O Quy Ho Pass, Vietnam’s longest mountain pass. Reach Sapa at nearly 2,000 meters altitude and explore Sapa Lake in the cool evening mist.


Day 6: Sapa to Remote Villages (40 km)

Explore Sapa’s local markets and nearby ethnic villages. Visit Thac Bac (Silver Waterfall) and immerse yourself in the rural life and terraced landscapes of the Hmong, Giay, Tay, and Dao people.


Day 7: Sapa to Bac Ha (120 km)

Ride to Lao Cai and enjoy coffee on the Nam Thi River by the China border. Continue via Road 70 and Road 153 to Bac Ha. Explore the local hill tribe market and shop for handmade souvenirs.


Day 8: Bac Ha to Ha Giang City (200 km)

Take small roads through stunning mountain scenery toward Hoang Su Phi. Ride past ethnic minority villages of the Nung, Flower Hmong, and Tay before arriving in Ha Giang. Enjoy a warm local dinner.


Day 9: Ha Giang to Dong Van (160 km)

Tackle narrow, dramatic roads lined with hill tribe villages. Ride the legendary Ma Pi Leng Pass, and visit the historical Vuong Palace in Sa Phin Valley. Overnight in Dong Van.


Day 10: Dong Van to Bao Lac (80 km)

Continue through the Dong Van Karst Plateau, a UNESCO Geopark. Pass through Meo Vac and explore ethnic minority villages along the way to Bao Lac.


Day 11: Bao Lac to Ba Be National Park (140 km)

Ride one of the most scenic routes in Northern Vietnam. Enter Ba Be National Park, home to limestone lakes and jungle-covered cliffs. Stay in a Tay family homestay near the lake.


Day 12: Ba Be Lake to Na Khan (80 km)

Take a boat ride across Ba Be Lake to Dau Dang Waterfall. After lunch in a nearby village, ride to Na Khan and stay in a local Nung village for your final night in the countryside.


Day 13: Na Khan to Hanoi (160 km)

Ride back to Hanoi through peaceful villages and rice paddies, arriving in the afternoon to close out the epic 13-day journey.
