Day 1 – Selfoss ? Jökulheimar
Ride from Selfoss to the highlands, with stops at MT. Hekla, Hjálparfoss waterfall, Háifoss (Iceland’s 2nd highest waterfall), Þórisvatn, and Veiðivötn Lake. End the day at Jökulheimar Mountain Hut for a dinner of fresh-caught fish or steak.
Day 2 – Jökulheimar ? Álftavötn
Ride into the Fjallabak region, through Landmannalaugar geothermal area and natural hot springs. Pass Langisjór Lake, the Tungnaá and Skaftá Rivers, and the massive Eldgjá volcanic fissure.
Day 3 – Álftavötn ? Selfoss
Ride Öldufellsleið, a remote mountain road with views of Mýrdalsjökull and Eyjafjallajökull glaciers. Cross the black desert and pass Mælifell volcano, Markarfljótsgljúfur canyon, and the Emstrur area before returning to Selfoss.
