Night 1: Arrival in Chiang Mai – Rest and Preparation

To ensure you're fully rested before setting off on your motorcycle adventure, we've included an extra night’s stay in Chiang Mai. This allows you to unwind after your travels, explore the city, and prepare for the ride ahead.
The Next Morning:
At 7:30 AM, we'll pick you up from the hotel and head to Route 66 Bikers Café for a hearty breakfast. After fueling up, we’ll go over the safety briefing, paperwork, and bike handover before hitting the road.
Day 1: Chiang Mai ? Mae Taeng ? Pai (158 km)
The adventure begins in Chiang Mai as we ride out of the city and into the mountains of Doi Suthep-Pui National Park. A stop at Wat Phra That Doi Suthep offers panoramic views of Chiang Mai before we continue into the lush forests and winding roads of Mae Taeng.
Stops Along the Way:
- Karen and Lisu Villages – Glimpse the traditional lifestyles of Northern Thailand’s hill tribes.
- Mae Taeng Elephant Camp – Observe Thailand’s elephants in their natural setting.
- Pai Canyon – A short hike offers dramatic ridgeline views over Pai’s rolling hills.
The day ends in Pai, a laid-back mountain town known for its artistic vibe, vibrant night market, and relaxed atmosphere.
Day 2: Pai ? Mae Hong Son (148 km)
Leaving Pai, we carve through winding mountain roads enveloped in morning mist, gradually gaining altitude as we head deeper into Thailand’s remote northwestern provinces.
Stops Along the Way:
- Pai Canyon – A return visit for those who missed yesterday’s golden-hour views.
- Numerous Hairpin Turns – This stretch delivers some of the best riding experiences on the loop.
- Wat Phra That Doi Kong Mu – A hilltop temple offering panoramic views over Mae Hong Son.
Mae Hong Son is a peaceful town surrounded by mountains, where Shan culture and Burmese influence are evident in the architecture and local cuisine.
Day 3: Mae Hong Son ? Mae Sariang (225 km)
Today's ride takes us through untouched landscapes, remote villages, and natural wonders, offering a deeper look at Northern Thailand’s unique geography and culture.
Stops Along the Way:
- Lod Cave – A guided bamboo raft tour takes you through massive limestone caverns filled with stalactites and ancient cave paintings.
- Mae Surin Waterfall – One of Thailand’s tallest waterfalls, cascading from a height of 100 meters.
- Hill Tribe Villages – Ride past terraced rice fields and settlements where traditional ways of life remain unchanged.
The day ends in Mae Sariang, a tranquil town along the Yuam River, where teakwood houses and a laid-back atmosphere provide the perfect place to rest before the final stretch of the journey.
Day 4: Mae Sariang ? Doi Inthanon ? Chiang Mai (197 km)
The final day of the Mae Hong Son Loop delivers some of the most dramatic riding of the tour, taking us to Thailand’s highest peak before descending back to Chiang Mai.

- Doi Inthanon National Park – A climb to Thailand’s highest point at 2,565 meters above sea level.
- Royal Twin Pagodas – Ornate structures built in honor of Thailand’s royal family, offering panoramic mountain views.
- Wachirathan Waterfall – A thundering cascade set against lush tropical vegetation.
- Karen Long Neck Village – A cultural visit to learn about the unique brass coil traditions of the Karen people.
As we descend from the mountains and return to Chiang Mai, the final curves of the loop mark the completion of this legendary route. A farewell dinner in the city brings the tour to a close, celebrating an unforgettable journey through Northern Thailand’s most exhilarating roads.
